Dove Channel Launches In Canada

Cinedigm Corp announced today that Dove Channel, one of its digital streaming subscription services, is now available in Canada. The channel offers both ad-supported and commercial-free subscription programming, and can be viewed initially on Android and Apple’s iOS devices, with a broad spectrum of connected devices including Roku Players and Roku TV models, Amazon Fire, tvOS, and all major web browsers to follow.

Dove Channel, launched in the U.S. on September 15, 2015, caters to families seeking quality, safe, family-friendly content. The channel features movies and TV shows families can enjoy together, and includes mainstream and classic family films, documentaries, heartwarming TV series and children’s programs. All of Dove Channel’s carefully curated content reflects the time-honored standards of The Dove Foundation with its trusted Family Seal of Approval. At launch, all programs can be watched on demand, with the channel’s two (2) live, auto-play streaming features, Dove NOW and Dove Kids, available within the quarter.

“Canada is our first foray into launching digital networks outside the U.S. market, but certainly not the last, as we have plans to roll-out channels in other territories, with parts of the Middle East, India and Asia in the coming months,” said Erick Opeka, EVP of Digital Networks for Cinedigm.

The Canadian launch follows several significant distribution deals Cinedigm has recently announced, including its channels being added to Amazon’s Fire and Google’s Chromecast platform. This launch is part of Cinedigm’s long-term strategic plan to significantly ramp-up the availability of its fast-growing OTT services, and will soon be followed by Android TV, releasing in September 2017. These latest developments will expand the reach of Cinedigm channels to over 60+ million potential consumers domestically and 36 million in Canada.

Dove Channel’s subscription-based offering is $4.99 per month, and viewers can subscribe within the app or on the website. For more information on Dove Channel, please visit www.dovechannel.com.
