Man Arrested For Threats Against FCC Chairman’s Children

While the debate over the repeal of Net Neutrality sometimes get’s heated, some folks it seem do not know where to draw the line.

According to Politico, “Markara Man, 33, of Norwalk (California) was arrested in Los Angeles and charged with threatening to murder an immediate family member of a U.S. official.” That official was FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and the family members were his children.

According to the report Markara sent Pai a letter with the addresses of area ore-schools and said, “I will find your children and I will kill them”. Markara said he threatened Pai’s kids because of the Net Neutrality repeal saying, “They pretty much ignored, like, 80 percent of comments … they ignored ‘us,’ and just didn’t care” .

It reads like satire from the Onion, but it’s true apparently some people are so upset at the repeal they are threatening to kill people’s children.

As I have said all along Net Neutrality was only around for a few months, folks need to calm down and realize the repeal will not be the end of the world. But even if it does make your Netflix bill go up $5 a month, we need to find a way to return these debates to civility, because clearly some people are taking all the rage a bit too far.
