Sling TV App No Longer Supported On MAC, Older Windows Versions

Sling TV has dropped support for the app on older versions of Windows PC, and on Mac. Several users noticed an error when trying to access the app.

Sling TV has posted information regarding the cancellation of app support:

We’re focusing our efforts on adding new features to our newly launched Google Chrome browser player. If you haven’t tried it, our browser player is great because there’s no need to download an app—just sign in to sling.com to watch.

We’re trying to improve the viewing experience for our customers, and unfortunately, this required discontinuing support for the MAC and Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 PC apps.

If you try to access the Mac or PC Sling TV app, you will see the following screen.

To watch on Sling TV on your computer, download or update to the newest version of Google Chrome here. We are working on bringing this to Safari browser.

If you are using a Windows 10 device, download the Sling TV app in the Windows store. Learn how to do so here.
