Statement From PlayStation Vue On Immediate Price Increase

Sony’s Playstation Vue streaming service dropped a surprise price increase today, effective immediately for new customers.

Playstation sent out the following statement to subscribers of the Core Slim plans about the price increase:

Effective today, PlayStation Vue is transitioning Core Slim plans to a nationwide price of $44.99/mo* for new customers.

As a valued existing customer, you will keep Core Slim at the price of $34.99/mo* for 3 billing cycles until November 3, 2017. During this period, any changes to your plans will reflect the currently available pricing.

Thank you for being a valued PlayStation Vue customer and please know we continuously seek ways to enhance the service including personalized features, simultaneous streams and no annual contract.

Effective 7/6/2017 for new customers, PlayStation™Vue plans will have the same nationwide pricing, as follows:

  • Access: $39.99/mo*
  • Core: $44.99/mo*
  • Elite: $54.99/mo*
  • Ultra: $74.99/mo*

If you are already subscribing at one of the prices above, your price will not change.

If you have Access Slim, Core Slim, Elite Slim, or Ultra Slim pricing, you will keep your current price for three billing cycles after the July 6 pricing change announcement. At the conclusion of this period, your monthly subscription will change (on your subscription renewal date) to the pricing above, based on the plan you have. If you upgrade, downgrade, or re-subscribe during this special pricing period, currently available pricing will apply.

    I`m cutting plat station after this month me or family are not paying $44-99 for this Crap

      I have heard rumors that it’s due to growth. Some think the business model was based off of small margins but high subscriber count. Subscriber count didn’t meet goals so plan be is high margin, lower subscriber count. Just speculation.

    Very unhappy that we are getting such a significant increase, expecially since we do not live in an area that has local channel availability
