Wal-Mart Abandons New Streaming Service Plans

Last year Wal-Mart was reportedly working on plans for a new original content streaming service. The service would complement their existing service Vudu, presenting original content.

According to CNBC, Wal-Mart reportedly courted ex-Epix exec Mark Greenberg, but talks broke down as the giant retailer balked at the high price tag of creating enough original content.

Wal-Mart will turn their focus to growing Vudu, and is expected to spend some money on original content for that platform.
