Walmart: 2 Free Months Of Sling TV, & 3 Free Movies With Connected Device Purchase

A couple months ago we reported about Wal-Mart’s “Cut the Cord” initiative which promoted cord cutting via connected devices.

While the earlier promotional efforts were largely educational, it looks like the brick and mortar retailing giant is now putting some pretty sweet offers behind the promotion.

The new promotion from Wal-Mart promises 2 free months of Sling TV for new subscribers (a $40 value) and 3 specific free movies (“Taken” theatrical version, “Cast Away” and “Horton Hears A Who”, a $40+ value) from their Vudu service.

From the looks of the offering the purchase of any digital device including TVs, tablets, streaming devices, gaming consoles, laptops, desktops, and various bundles (excluding Sony products) Walmart has links to a full list of eligible devices on their site, you can check out at this link.

I think the exclusion of Sony devices is interesting, as it probably reflects the heavy competition between Sling TV and Sony’s Playstation Vue.
